Investing in our future

The hallways are currently quiet in our school building; however, come August 25th the situation will enthusiastically change. Soon our schools will be filled with laughter, summer memories, and new challenges for the students. As educators we will be given the opportunity to touch lives, challenge young minds, and create a greater future than we can ever imagine.
In education, there are many stakeholders that invest in our students’ future. An important key element to that investment comes from those outside our immediate building. Along with parents, the community shares a big responsibility in creating an environment that is safe and secure for students in order to achieve greatness.
Students come to school everyday ready to take on what is given to them, without any thought of the challenges they have at home. Everyday there are students who come to school hungry, who are not fortunate to have more than one uniform to wear, and who go home without adult supervision, mostly because their parents are working hard to provide for their family. It is here where the community can give back. Individuals like you can help schools develop programs for students which could include but not limited to sponsorship, tutoring, and mentoring. Our students are eager to know so many more things that go beyond the classroom doors. Whenever possible, inquire how you can help in our schools and become an investor in our future leaders.
Thanks to Vida Social for their sponsorship of Lida Hooe Elementary. We are grateful to have the funds that will help provide uniforms and for the supplies collected. Our HAWKS send their love and appreciation to all of you who contributed to our campus.
With sincere gratitude,
